Boerne, TX - Recent Comfort graduate Luke Roberts was named the Built Ford Tough Texas High School 2A Football Player of the Year and received his award during halftime of the Texas High School Coaches Association all-star football game held at Amon Carter Field on the TCU campus.
Roberts capped an outstanding year in 2006, rushing for 35 touchdowns and passing for another 28 as he finished with 4,332 yards from scrimmage. CHS rolled to a perfect district season last fall and won its first playoff game before getting beat in the second round of the postseason.
Alamo Heights quarterback, Giovanni Vizza, who led the Mules to the state title, was named the 4A Player of the Year by Ford.
